Pokémon Go Roggenrola Community Day Event Guide

pokemon goThe September Community Day focuses on: Roggenrola‘s rock-type Pokémon Pokemon Black and White‘s Unova region. As usual with Community Days, the featured Pokémon will spawn in monstrous numbers, its Shiny speed is increased, and it learns a special move when you evolve it.

U.S pokemon go The Roggenrola Community Day guide explains how to get a Shiny Roggenrola – and how to get the most out of the event period.

Roggenrola Community Day has begun September 18 from 2-5pm in your local time.

How do I find a Shiny Roggenrola?

According to The Silph Road’s research, the Shiny percentages on Community Days are about 1 in 24, meaning if you keep playing through the three hours, you’ll find quite a few Shiny Pokémon.

If you’re short on time or Poké Balls, you can get a Incense and then quickly tap each Roggenrola to check for Shiny and then run away if they are not Shiny. Notably, any Roggenrola you’ve already tapped will be faced with where your player stands, so that should help determine which one you may have already checked.

What move of the Community Day does the evolution of Roggenrola teach?

If your Roggenrola evolves into Gigalite On September 18 from 2pm to 10pm your local timeit will learn the charged attack meteor beam.

If you can’t develop it during this time, you can probably develop it at a Community Day weekend event in December to get Meteor Beam. If you don’t want to wait, you can use an Elite TM to get started.

How does Gigalith fare in battle?

In PvE content such as raids and gyms, Gigalith is a strong rock type attacker. It lags behind several special Pokémon such as Legendaries, Shadows, Mega Evolutions, and other rock types with legacy moves. Thanks to Community Day, Gigalith is easy to get and recharge, so you should definitely grab one while you have the chance.

Gigalith doesn’t see much use in PvP. Rock-type Pokémon have a lot of vulnerabilities, and Meteor Beam doesn’t help increase its place in the meta.

How do I get the most out of Roggenrola Community Day?

In addition to the above bonuses, Roggenrola Community Day has the following benefits:

  • 14 egg hatch distance when incubated during the event period
  • Doubled candy from catching Pokémon
  • Incense lasts three hours
  • Two special transactions are allowed from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Double chance to get Candy XL
  • Lure Modules takes three hours
  • Transactions require 50% less Stardust

That said, during the event you should definitely put all the eggs you have in Incubators, pop an incense and grab a bunch of Roggenrola candy. Boldore needs 200 candies to evolve if you don’t trade it first, so it’s good to stock up.

If you can Mega Evolve an aerodactyl or Aggronyou also get extra candy per Roggenrola catch.

In addition to all this, Niantic still performs special four-star attacks from 5 to 10 p.m., where if you clear the Boldore attack, Roggenrola will spawn in a 300-meter radius around the gym for 30 minutes. These raids cannot be done remotely. If the usual increase in spawn from 2pm to 5pm doesn’t get you the Roggenrola you wanted, you can try raiding for another chance.
