“Syndemic sublime”

Transdisciplinary artist Laura Splan brings a new art exhibition to Austin Peay’s Art + Design Building.

“Syndemic Sublime” is part of an ongoing series of computer-generated and data-driven animations on display in APSU’s space that showcases new media art known as ““.

“For this show, Splan created computer animations that begin with a molecular visualization of SARS-CoV-2 that is then animated based on mortality statistics from the first 20 months of the pandemic,” said Barry Jones, a professor of art in the APSU division of Art + Design.

The exhibition is open to the public from September 12-30 during the regular opening hours of the Art + Design building, on weekdays from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

APSU’s Tennessee Small Business Center gets a new director.

Liz Snodgrass has been announced as the new director of the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) at APSU.

The TSBDC is hosting an open house to celebrate its arrival on October 18 from 5-7pm. The open house will showcase the center’s mission and vision, as well as the office space in the press. Guests can register through the link available on the APSU website.
